Call for Student Participation from ISCA-SAC

Student Participation Opportunity

Are you a graduate student interested in speech and language technologies? Would you like to interact with the worldwide community of speech and language researchers? If so, ISCA-SAC is a great opportunity for you!

ISCA-SAC is the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA). ISCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting activities related to speech and language technologies, such as organizing conferences, sponsoring workshops, and publishing scientific works, among other activities. The SAC was organized to expand ISCA's services to its student members.

With ISCA's Interspeech 2008 conference scheduled to occur in Brisbane, Australia, this is an excellent opportunity for students in the Pacific region to learn more about ISCA-SAC and possibly become involved. The SAC organizes student-oriented talks and other activities at the Interspeech conference, develops a web site of resources, took the lead in archiving ISCA's publication archives with Google Scholar, is planning some exciting future activities, and is a great way to interact with students and senior researchers from around the world. For more information on ISCA-SAC, please see: http://www.isca-students.org/

We are always looking for new volunteers to contribute their ideas and efforts. Interested students can take on responsibilities that fit their schedules, volunteering for a task or two as they are able, or taking the initiative and becoming more involved; motivated students who have shown commitment and enthusiasm may be invited to become Board members.
